The coins for 2020 feature Winnie the Pooh, Christopher Robin and Piglet. Joining the party in 2021 – the same year that celebrates 95 years since the publication of Winnie-the-Pooh, are Owl and Tigger, along with a coin that features Winnie the Pooh and his friends together. Three more coins will follow next year.
Piglet 2020 UK 50p Silver Proof Coin
LIMITED STOCK - SPECIAL OFFER
The third coin in The Royal Mint's new collection that celebrates the enchanting world of Winnie the Pooh and his friends features Piglet, inspired by A.A. Milne's original stories. Admired for his loyal friendship and timid yet brave demeanour, Piglet is portrayed in one of E.H. Shepard's delightful illustrations, using colour-printing techniques. The endearing character is depicted happily blowing on a colourful dandelion that is almost as big as his head, while a busy bee makes an appearance from previous coins, linking all the coins in the series.
This marks the first time that Piglet has been featured on a UK coin struck by The Royal Mint. Only 18,000 925 sterling silver coins are available, and each one is presented in a beautifully adorned acrylic block with a booklet dedicated to Pooh's dear friend, Piglet.
